They're coming!

When we first started kicking around the idea of an extraction lab, what needed to be looked at first was the overall process. WOW! Not only do you ACTUALLY need to be a chemist for this, but there are so many more pieces to it than we thought. After studying and learning all about the process we decided to go with SuperCritical CO2. What differentiates this from other processes (like ethanol extraction) is it won't blow you up. BIG WIN. The next piece was to figure out what we needed to derive from the product. We knew that people and companies alike loved certain stages of the oil, but how far would we have to go?

All the way. That's exactly how far we would have to go. What I mean by that is to go to the Isolate stage. This is the granular stage where there is nothing left but CBD. That gives our customers the most versatility and usability for the product. That's where we'll go. Will we process other pieces for customers? Absolutely. Forest Edge is in the business for a lifetime of making the world and people in it better. You don't get that way without developing a network and relationships along the way. If we want to get better than the other extractors in the world, we have to BE better.

The next step after that was 'where do we buy from?'. This took a lot of kicking tires and figuring out exactly what company we would need to go with. From bids that were $1,000,000 plus, to companies that didn't even respond to my inquiry (that's insane to me. this is a booming sector that is developing...how can you just NOT respond when someone wants to give you money?!), we found Precision Extraction.

Precision stood out to us because Joy is from the Detroit, MI area, and Precision is based there. Big win for them. The next win was I immediately got a response from them the hour I submitted an inquiry. From a real person, not a program. I tested this theory by responding to the email, getting another email a minute later from someone named Dion. This was a conversation that I loved to be a part of.

Dion helped me see what would be best for me, as well as why to go with Precision. I did my homework and saw Precision is the equipment manufacturer for both the largest processing facility in Europe as well as the USA. A company that is invested that much in CBD shows me they have more skin in the game than I do, so I should watch what they do.

Many conversations later we have a signed contract and a plan. The main headache is the county we're in (Washington) is dragging their feet. This is annoying, but I do understand their need to make sure everyone is in line before they go off in the world.

From this signed contract, I have emails of what we are receiving in our first shipment, with one piece that I am super excited to get, a Rotary Evaporator. I'll post pics when it comes in, but for now just trust me that it is quite unique.

The space we are in is being upgraded daily by me, and soon to be by others through HVAC and Electrical pieces. Until then we will store what equipment does show up and wait for the big day!!

NOTE: The 'Santa House' sign on the building is for my fathers' other hobby, being Santa Claus in the winter months. Everything we do here is for living a better life!
